Christmas 2009

Christmas was very chill this year. We stayed home in Sacramento. Christmas Eve we were invited to go to our neighbors home with their extended family but I just wanted to stay home with our little family. We had chicken noodle soup and rolls. We sang Christmas songs and got the kids to bed early so Santa could come. It was very nice and relaxing.
Santa is all done setting out the toys. All is calm and beautiful at midnight. I really do enjoy doing Christmas. Although, I still can't get over feeling guilty about lying to the girls about Santa. Kate had so many questions this year and asked me many times if Santa was real. AHH! parents is it normal to feel bad about the whole Santa thing? Well, I'll just enjoy it while it lasts.

Kate got her American Girl. She had been consistent about wanting an American Girl Doll. Wich is funny because Kate is not really a doll girl. But looking back now, six months after Christmas she still loves "Kasey" (that's what she named her). I wanted to exchange Kasey for another doll because her hair is wavy and knots up really easy. But that made Kate feel bad. Her favorite time to do her hair and dress is her is after she's already in bed for the night. Oh well, at least she's in bed, right?
Here's Macy the morning after Christmas. Notice, all the stuffed animals she has with her are not from Christmas. It's part of her Hello Kitty collection.

Christmas evening we went to our friends the Mortinsen's for Christmas dinner. The girls got dressed up. We celebrated with four families; Mortinsen's, Loomis's, and the Krause's. They all have kids about the same age. Such good people. We've been so lucky in Sacramento to make good friends. I feel so blessed. (Again, the kids are holding stuffed animals they did not get for Christmas.)
Christmas morning before going in to see the presents. What a happy little family I have.
